Great staff who are helpful and kind - beautiful resort with plenty to do!

Great location right on the beach with a great vibe, nice restaurants and a short walk to Railay for more activities. Overall excellent stay and the staff were so helpful in organising onward travel to our next destination. The island itself is not too busy which is brilliant and the beach is beautiful! Yummy breakfast.

AC was loud and disturbed sleep a little, but it kept it cool! It can be difficult to get to other places depending on the tide as Tonsai is difficult to reach at low tide and so it costs more to rent long tails etc.

Good but expensive for the quality

Close to the beach and also the walking street at Tonsai - good breakfast

The bathroom could be done a little better for the price we paid - nothing wrong with the place but a bit of up keeping as you are charging quite a high price

Awesome resort, monkeys in it's garden, beautifully...

Awesome resort, monkeys in it's garden, beautifully clean and comfortable. It's in climbers paradise.

It's a 15minutes way over the rocks to get to Railey west beach, a bit tiring if you carry your stuff. However there are boats to help you go to Railey or Ao Nang.

The room was big and clean, just 1 minute from the beach. Pleasant environment and very nice staff.

I got food poisoning from the restaurant (the right one facing the beach), be carful when you eat there!

Wonderful

Tonsai Bay is a nice quiet bay where you can rest. Rooms in resort are ok, ground floor in main building is quite noisy and smelled bad in room. The staff is very very nice and polite.

Breakfast was good but you can eat better food in the other restaurants.

Tonsai Tummy

The location is quite remote, but very nice. The staff was nice and helped us with all requests. The room was quite clean and big, but the bathroom is from another movie.

There is no shower. You basically shower above the toilet (this is not shown in the pictures, so it came as a surprise). I only ate at their restaurant (on the beach), trying to avoid the famous Tonsai Tummy (because I am pregnant). Well...bad luck: I still got it. Also, the whole group got it (they ate at different restaurants in Tonsai).

Paradise. Gorgeous cliffs and beach.

Beautiful beach and amazing view from the restaurant. Cliffs and rock climbing right outside the door. Introductory rock climbing (gear and guide) was amazing. Only 10 people in the whole bay in early October. Talented Rock climbers and base jumpers were enjoying the cliff above the restaurant. Amazing. My family only stayed 2 nights, but would have loved to stay much longer.

Note that on low tide, the water recedes to to reveal a large rocky reef that covers the bay... this allows you to walk along the beach/ rocks around the point (wear sandles) to the south to Raley beach, which still has A large sandy beach on low tide. Tonsai bay is wonderful on mid-to-high tide. High tide walk to Raley beach is longer.

1. Very secluded beach and the hotel itself.

1. Very secluded beach and the hotel itself. 2. Nature is amazing. 3. Mosquito net 4. Safe box in the room 5. Golf cart takes you from and to the boat at the Tonsai Beach not to carry the baggage on your own. 6. Very friendly stuff. A girl at the reception spoke fluent English (a great but pleasant surprise). 7. A perfect place for rock climbers

1.No electricity from 9:30am to 5pm in a low season (but they inform about it beforehand so we have already been acknowledged). 2. No water bucket or something like this to wash the feet at the door front not to take the sand into the bungalow. Too expensive boat to get from the Tonsai Bay to West Railay in the morning - 400 baht per 2 persons (from Ao Nang to Tonsai: 100 baht/person but you need to wait for 10 people). Nevertheless, you can walk to the West Railay through the rocks (it takes around 15 mins without baggage). We had a big baggage that day. Thanks to my boyfriend we managed to agree upon 350baht with a boat man.

The staff is very nice and helpful, the room is large and clean, the property is very nice and located right on the beach. Tonsai beach is quiet and secluded, so there aren’t many people. Getting there is not an issue at all - just follow the detailed instructions that are provided in the welcome email. Tonsai beach has a chilled vibe , welcoming people and is perfect for solo travelers - it’s easy to socialize with other travelers. You will also meet many rock climbers from all over the world. The neighboring Railay beach has nicer sand, but is super crowded even in low season.

The resort is beautifully located with the restaurant...

The resort is beautifully located with the restaurant overlooking the sea. We have stayed in a room in a main building not the bungalows. The rooms were ok but a little basic and dark inside.

The restaurant food was so so and expensive. The breakfast that was part of the booking was also a little bit limited if you stay longer. Fortunately there are a few other places you can eat outside the resort in the village.

Probably the best place to stay in Tonsai for now

O think that in spite of the number of failures, it's the best place to stay in Tonsai now. Probably, there is only one hotel to compete. 1. Excellent locations close to the beach and rock 2. Own boat and nice (though costly!) transfer option 3. Powerful air conditioning 5. Enough sockets in the rooms 6. Main building rooms are quite secure from the insects and snakes.

Overall the place is fine, but there are few weak points: 1. Tonsai is obviously a rock climbing place and there are a lot of climbers among the guests. Nevertheless there are no special places for climbers gear in the rooms - huge mistake! 2. Painfully annoying WiFi systems which constantly malfunctions and needs a rest at least once in a 3 days 3. No air fresher in the bathroom 4. No foot shower in front of the main building. There is one, but very primitive and slightly off the way 5. Last year a cleaning worker took my wallet dropped at the hotel bar. It was on cameras but simple "I didn't do it" was enough for owners to stop any investigation whatsoever 6. Very weak water pressure in the shower 7. Not enough drawers and other places to put things into in the room. Very uncomfortable since your things will need all over the room 8. Balconys in the main building are tiny 9. Doors in boongalows are not secure against small insects. 10. No electricity in the rooms during the day in low season. I know it's as way to save costs. But it's quite possible to provide power only to the rooms with guests.

Very quiet resort. Breakfast and dinner direct at the beach with climber and base jumpers. Very nice sunsets

Bathing only at high tide. Slippery path to Ralay beach (20 min).

they did not write in the description of the hotel that you can go swimm on the beach just in the morning because after lunch is very strong ebb and watter is away. And you must go next to the beach Railay west where is something like that like small jellyfish and it is not pleasantly.

The food and service at the beach bar is great, the staff in the rest of the resort are horrible

The staff at the bar were awesome, so was the food

The lady at the minimart right next to the massage place sold us a water proof bag that was not very water proof...both our phones are now ruined. When asked if we can return the bag the lady said no and laughed at us, I was very annoyed and angry. The resort management did nothing for us about this issue so that has made our stay a bit less enjoyable.

It has a wonderful location on Tonsai Beach. The restaurant has a beautiful view. The staff were great. The area is quieter than it's neighboring Railay yet you can easily reach Railay with a short walk.

Fine beach stay (especially the restaurant), room a bit overpriced

Room was standard but fine, could benefit from some decoration. Location is good, close to the beach. Staff at reception was kind. Great extensive breakfast, dinner was also good, great views from the restaurant.

Bathroom didn't have a shower curtain and was next to the toilet (unfortunately, like many places in Thailand/Laos..). Quite expensive for what you get.

The rooms were clean & breakfast was very comprehensive if you didn’t take your eyes off the Myna birds!

The bathroom desperately needed refurbishing. The main light in reception looks like it hasn’t been dusted in years! Odd choice….

The hotel itself is conveniently located and clean, but the staff was unprofessional.

Very close to the beach and good location.

I am travelling alone and ended up feeling sick. I had a fever, and because there is no electricity during the afternoon in Tonsai during low season, I could not turn on the AC. I also had no medicine on me, and could not contact the staff in any way (no telephone or anything) without walking for 5 minutes in the heat to the office. I think I was suffering from heat exhaustion, so I legitimately did not feel safe walking in the sun, as I thought I was going to faint at any moment. It felt like a really dangerous situation to be in, and thank god there were other guests in the villa next to me who gave me some medicine and then walked to the office to inform the staff that I wasn't feeling well. Luckily, an electrician came and turned on the electricity so I could use the electricity. Other than this, most of the staff wouldn't smile or even look at me, and seemed like most of them hated their jobs and didn't want to be there.
